Today is the sacred day of Ashtami during Navratri, and on this day we worship Maa Mahagauri. The form of Maa Mahagauri is extremely serene, pure, and divine. Her complexion shines with a brilliance as fair as the moon, which is why she is called Mahagauri. In her hands, she holds a trident and a damaru, and she rides on a bull (Vrishabh). The form of Maa Mahagauri gives us a message of purity, patience, compassion, and strong determination.

It is my good fortune that while living in a city as diverse as Mira-Bhayandar, I witness how its people, just like Maa Mahagauri, are hardworking, simple, and full of love. Just as Maa Mahagauri attained immense radiance through her penance and sacrifice, in the same way, if we all embrace discipline, honesty, and perseverance in our lives, not only Mira-Bhayandar but the entire nation can reach new heights.

One of the greatest qualities of Maa Mahagauri is her spotlessness. If every individual in society adopts transparency and truth in their work, then the progress of our city will gain momentum. True development does not only mean tall buildings and wide roads—it happens when every section of society can trust one another.

Maa also teaches us that the path of patience and compassion is the noblest of all. In a rapidly growing city like Mira-Bhayandar, we too must have the patience to ensure that development includes everyone equally. Whether it is the field of education, healthcare facilities, or employment opportunities—ensuring these reach every citizen will be the truest form of worship to Maa Mahagauri.

Just as the form of Maa Mahagauri dispels darkness and brings forth light, in the same way, we too must remove the darkness of ignorance, inequality, and discrimination from our city and spread the light of knowledge, equality, and brotherhood.

On this sacred occasion, I take a pledge that the development of Mira-Bhayandar will not only be external but also internal. The hearts of its people will be enriched with stronger feelings of trust, respect, and cooperation. May Maa Mahagauri’s blessings always remain on our city, so that it becomes an ideal place for the generations to come.

I pray to Maa Mahagauri to grant us the strength to walk on the path of truth, courage, and compassion. With her blessings, may our society and our Mira-Bhayandar continue to progress and contribute to the growth and prosperity of our entire nation.
